If you are going to make an investment and your wife will be wearing that investment, you might as well make investment for yourself the can actually sell. I am not sure that I believe jewelry is an investment if you never intend to sell it. Therefore you may want to buy domains, and sell them later at a profit.
Did you happen to see that in August of 2009 there was a list of about 30 domains that were very special. Very special because they each brought anywhere from $2000-$60,000. What is so special about this list is that there was also one in July, they had a larger list and prices that were about the same. It has been since 1999 that we have seen prices this high for domains. There was individual that posted a GoDaddy promo code so you can obtain domains for less than $10 each. You can buy as many as you want and create your own portfolio and just imagine how much you may be able to sell them for someday.
